FMP Proposal
For my Final major project I am going to be making a 10 minutes pilot episode for a supernatural TV drama. My target audience is going to be male and female 18- 45, I am producing it as if it’s for channel4/e4 post watershed (due to content). I’ve chosen this genre as its has recently became very popular, however, the genre has been more for girls since twilight and vampire diaries, so I wanted to make something that would interest both equally, with a twist of vampire diaries and evolution, using ‘real’ vampire stories I have come up with my idea. The story of the supernatural in the “real” world were vampires and werewolf’s get along (for now), a very old secret of betrayal surfaces and rivals them against each other, although both gang leaders are reluctant to start a war as they are older, wiser and aware of the consequences. The witches are the most powerful of all but are the people who keep things in order and stopping the mortals from finding out about these other species amongst them. Throughout the episode it becomes clear that there is a conspiracy against the werewolf’s and a corrupt witch is involved. The series is going to be set from the werewolf’s point of view rather than the vampire’s or witches. When it comes to the visual style I am going to do a take on film noir, obviously in the colour. Using lots of warm and dark colours, lots of shadows with a gritty look. The sound and music is going to be typical horror with some urban influences as the program has some urban elements as well as the classic werewolf/vampire/witch. Along with this there will be some extra sound and voice distortion on certain characters voices to add something extra that visuals or dialogue alone couldn’t do alone.
